I am a big fan of NaNoWriMo as well (and will be trying to sneak some writing time in during the conference).

I’m a fan of NaNoWriMo (though I can’t do the Nov. version, what with being a prof), and of the tools for logging words and seeing progress. I’d like to suggest you look at that and at Camp NaNoWriMo (which I can do, and love), as well as considering gamification–points, trophies or badges, etc. Look forward to meeting you!
