I have a PhD in history (from a combined program between University Laval [in Quebec City] and l’École des hautes études en sciences sociales [in Paris]).

I’m specialized in colonial history, as well as in cultural contacts between newcomers and Native Americans.

Right now, I'm working as a postdoctoral research associate at the Mcneil center for early American studies (UPenn).

I am presently in charge of “Touch History”, an interactive map project (based on old maps, paintings and pictures), that would allow users to visualize the historical development of a given city from above and from within. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l8Vjb-87uE

Please feel comfortable to reach me if you want to chat about historical GIS (but be prepared for my awful accent !).

As for Nicholas Carr and Slavoj Žižek, they are certainly smarter than me, but I think I could beat them at Dig Dug.
