Pennington is an experienced Digital Humanities project manager with a background in grant writing and resource building in traditionally challenged environments. He has consulted widely with governmental and non-governmental organizations on digitizing endangered and/or rare cultural resources for preservation and online access; he has extensive IT experience in both the Global South and the United States. His work focuses on exposing large data sets as well as migrating obsolete analog material, digital files, and born digital media to current technologies.
He is currently the eResearch Projects Coordinator at the Center for Digital Research and Scholarship (CDRS) at Virginia Tech University Libraries.
